MIND CONTROL 9

Easter 2010. Chocolate Bunny

Image via Wikipedia

They called it Easter. A goddess known in the past as Ashteth or Ashtoreth. A goddess of nature. An egg representing the cocoon that carried her when she fell down to earth. Rabbits representing the fertility that she brought with her.

They placed a symbol of the cross on people’s foreheads, made from ashes. A day they called Ash Wednesday. Marking the entire world with a symbol that represents anything but what it stands for.

They had them all in the palm of their hands. The easiest way to control a man is if he doesnt know he is being controlled.

They knew they would be helpless because questions were forbidden. They know that those who had brains would listen without thinking. They knew that even though some would protest, over time generations would come to accept as the truth, what their ancestors had known to be a lie.

They shifted the day of worship to a day that was never what they say it is. A day that was dedicated to the sun. Sunday.

Sunday was moved and given an element that was never its own. They changed the sunday that was once known……and they called it the sabbath.

MIND CONTROL 8

Jesus upon the cross.

Image via Wikipedia

They called it the cross. An idol meant to represent the coming of God’s son. An image that reflected a distorted picture. A glorified object that took the attention from what was most important.

They said that God’s son carried the cross so that they wouldnt have to. The same son who says they should take up “their own cross” and follow him. In the story itself he didnt carry the cross. Someone in the crowd was elected to carry it for him. If he didn’t carry the physical cross himself……the cross cannot be a piece of wood.

They missed the light and led them to a place of darkness. Some elements were accidental, others were undoubtedly on purpose. They knew that it was not in their interest to teach the truth. Money and control were a much better option.

They turned the cross into a celebration. They blended it with a tradition that had been in existence for centuries. They tricked them into worshipping the sun…… in the guise of the son.

They told them that his death was his greatest act for mankind. When the event was in worship of the god of nature. They deceived the world with bunnies, flowers and hot cross buns. An event that takes place on no particular date; because it has to correspond with a certain point when the sun is at its fullest.

They created a day to celebrate the death of a man…….and they called it Easter.

MY LIFE: KNOWING GOD AND UNDERSTANDING MYSELF 4

Bob in thoughtful mode

Image via Wikipedia

Yesterday was an interesting day; a few friends and I were invited to interview a guy for a magazine. He came down a bit late but he was forgiven cause he turned out to be a nice guy; funny too. He had been a judge in a mini show my workplace had us do and it turned out he was pretty well known. Ill skip most of what he said and stick to the words that stood out.

He said “any principled human being is seen as wicked”. When he said that I trailed off a bit and thought about it. When I think of God with the knowledge of what he prescribes, he comes across as very principled. As a result of this when people think of God our immediate thoughts are clouded with lists of instructions that should be obeyed or else certain consequences will be suffered.

When I think of the concept of life and death, I understand why within that context it would seem wicked if God does not care if a man dies in a suicide bombing. I can imagine what it would be like to be married and to lose my wife in such a way, and blame God for letting it happen. But when I think about it deeper in relation to knowing what life and death actually is; my perspective is forced to change.

“Any principled human being is seen as wicked”. If God’s principles don’t involve preserving human life for as long as possible, does that make him wicked? Or does that make him someone that just values something different?

When a person dies we cry. We cry because we will miss them. We cry because we can remember so many happy moments with them. We cry because we suddenly realize how much they actually mean to us. We cry; for fundamentally selfish reasons. For me, that is what makes physical death that much more interesting, because our tears are really not for them, they are for ourselves.

God has a pretty specific personality, and because of that he has a completely different set of values. In order to have a relationship with him I’ve realized that I needed to learn what these values are so that I would know and understand him.

Right now I’m sitting in a joint, and about 30 minutes or so before I started writing this two guys were having an argument. One was saying you can’t understand unless you went to bible school. The other was saying it is your pastor that has to break it down for you. As you might imagine the conversation immediately grabbed my attention so I listened in. I try not to talk too much in these kind of scenarios cause I tend to see ahead whether or not it would be productive. Nevertheless after a while I asked them what their conversation was originally about.

One of their positions was that every man is evil. He was basing it on the fact that a man had once called Jesus “good teacher” and Jesus had responded saying only the father in heaven is good. The other guy’s position was that he was a sinner, but he was good.

I found both positions quite interesting but I decided not to plunge further into the conversation. It’s always intriguing to see how people come to conclusions about certain things in life. The first guy had picked one scenario where Jesus had said something. But then completely neglected referring to other places where Jesus had spoken about what it means to be a good person, and that in the final analysis we are supposed to be perfect like God.

The other guy claimed he was a sinner, but still a good person. While I was still working out what that meant, he sat down and brought up a different issue. Some guys had left their clothing out to dry on some chairs. It was about to rain and the guy was wondering out loud if he should help them take the clothes inside. Then he interrupted his thoughts and concluded that he would leave them there because, and I quote, “I do not want to carry the responsibilities of others”; I found that to be an interesting statement coming from this “good” person. Was I looking too deep into the conversation, or was I aware of some things that they weren’t?

The principles related to life are not as complicated as humanity seems to make them. Everyone seems to have an argument in every single possible direction. The truth though is there is only one perspective about life that is the “actual” truth. Everything else, is just a lie.

MIND CONTROL 7

Naturally High on Life - Day 6 of 365

They called it life. An existence in an evil world. Pursuing what makes them happy. Working to stay alive, keep life, preserve life and save life.

They deceived them into thinking that the whole point of life was to make it better. But the man that they claim to follow asked them to lay down that life. The man that they claim to follow asked them to lay down thier life so that they could take it up. He told them to lose life in order to gain it.

The man himself demonstrated the laying down of his life. They confused them into thinking this act was done when he let himself get killed by the people. They deceived them because they didnt understand what he had done.

The man didn’t lay down his life by letting people kill him and nail him to a piece of wood. He lay down his life by leaving his divinity. He lay down his life by leaving his throne. He lay down his life by becoming a man; a mere human being. His life didn’t begin on earth……”he left life in order to come to earth”.

He lay down that life so that they could have an example to follow. An example of submission to the will of the father. He didnt do it so they wouldnt have to do it too, far from it. He did it so they would do the same. Like the sheep follow the shepherd; they too would lay down their life.

They told them that the significance lay in his death. They lied and said it was his death that saved the world. They told them that he died and left them with a symbol……..and they called it the cross.
