MIND CONTROL 57: The Kingdom of Heaven

~day 157: the kingdom of God~

Jesus made a series of collective statements about the kingdom of heaven that we may need to take a look at:

Matt 13:44-53

44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid
it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

It appears as though the kingdom of heaven has a certain value…….worth selling everything that you have in order to retain it.

It is something that is worth giving up everything for.

45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.
46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.

It is something that you would be willing to pay the cost in order to get because it is expensive.

It doesn’t come cheap…..which is different from the “salvation” that Christians present which is “free”.

47 “Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.
48 When it was full, the fishermen pulled it up on the shore. Then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets, but threw the bad away.

The fish here seem to symbolize different types of people……good and bad.

The good will be collected and put into baskets…… the bad will be thrown away.

I guess the question comes……which fish would you be?

49 This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous
50 and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
51 “Have you understood all these things?” Jesus asked. “Yes,” they replied.
52 He said to them, “Therefore every teacher of the law who has been instructed about the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old.”
53 When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there.

Here Jesus makes a rather scary prophesy.

Maybe we should go back in order to go forward.

Before Jesus came there was an “age”

An age where men could become “servants” of God based on their obedience of the law.

Then Jesus came and marked the beginning of a different age.

An age where men could become “sons” of God……and have an intimate relationship with him.

At the end of this age…….

Angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous.

Needless to say…… each individual has a choice as to which category he/she wishes to fall into……destiny plays no role in this.

The wicked will be thrown into a fiery furnace……and there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

For the sake of the discussion…… ill throw in something I consider to be important.

We are not told that the wicked will be in the fiery furnace “for eternity”.

We are told that they will be thrown into the fiery furnace at the end of this age……after which “there will be other ages to come”.

The relevance of this point will become more evident as we continue to explore.

To be continued………..

MIND CONTROL 53: The Curse of Being Rich

Curse Your Little Heart

Image via Wikipedia

Jesus made quite a number of statements concerning rich people and his position towards them is fairly straight forward.

It is probably easier to understand where he is coming from seeing as we have explored how money is made and exactly what it means to be rich.

But let us examine a few more things that he says on the subject.

Jesus says:

Luke 6:24……”WOE TO YOU WHO ARE RICH, FOR YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR CONSOLATION”

It appears as though being rich on earth serves as some form of consolation for missing out on the “real thing”….. whatever that might be.

He also says:

Luke 6:25……”WOE TO YOU THAT ARE FULL NOW, FOR YOU SHALL HUNGER.”

Jesus seems to be speaking of two different time zones……. Your condition in the present appears to be directly opposite to the position that you will find yourself in later.

What are the implications of this if he is telling the truth?

Not very good for rich people…… that’s for sure.

On the basis of this Jesus gives an instruction.

Luke 12:33-34……. “Sell your possessions, and give alms; provide yourselves with purses that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. FOR WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, THERE WILL YOUR HEART BE ALSO.”

There seem to be two different types of treasure.

A treasure that can be stolen or destroyed……and a treasure that lasts forever.

Apparently…..we have to make a choice as to which treasure is worth having.

But it is important for you to know exactly where your treasure is…..because where your treasure is…….. that is where your heart will be also.

You cannot serve God and money.

A choice has to be made.

Jesus says:

Luke 12:47-48……And that servant who knew his master’s will, but did not make ready or act according to his will, shall receive a severe beating. But he who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, shall receive a light beating. EVERY ONE TO WHOM MUCH IS GIVEN, OF HIM WILL MUCH BE REQUIRED; AND OF HIM TO WHOM MEN COMMIT MUCH THEY WILL DEMAND THE MORE.

There are two categories of people in relation to this subject.

Please note that both get punished…… the only difference is the degree of punishment.

If you didn’t know the will of God in relation to money…….you would get a light beating.

But if you do know….yet choose to go the other way……. You will get a severe beating.

I guess it boils down to if you believe what Jesus is saying…….assuming that he speaks the truth…… this may be an issue that one needs to pay careful attention to.

If you have a lot……a lot is expected of you.

Its not enough to spend your money entirely on yourself with no regard for others around you…… we need to develop a certain consciousness to the things that matter.

Jesus says:

Luke 6:20…….:”BLESSED ARE YOU WHO ARE POOR, FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD”

If the kingdom of God is for the poor……. then we need to find out how we can become poor…… assuming the kingdom of God is something that we desire.

A lot of questions come to mind though.

How poor is poor?

Should we not work and have aspirations to live a better life?

What if I give up everything only to discover that it wasn’t worth it in the end? …..wouldn’t that mean I have wasted my life?

Let’s see if we can find a few answers to these questions.

To be continued……..

MIND CONTROL 38

Terminator Salvation (video game)

Image via Wikipedia

This is where it gets very important to pay attention to the level of deception that Paul uses.

Let us start with taking a look at Paul’s concept of salvation

Rom 10:8-10
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”– that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
9 that IF YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH JESUS AS LORD, AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU SHALL BE SAVED;
10 for WITH THE HEART MAN BELIEVES, RESULTING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND WITH THE MOUTH HE CONFESSES, RESULTING IN SALVATION.

What is Paul saying?

Paul is saying all you have to do is believe in your heart…..and you are automatically righteous.

Confess with your mouth…….and you are automatically saved.

This is what gave birth to the concept now known as “the altar call”.

The pastor preaches a message……asks the congregation if anyone wants to be saved….. tells them to repeat a prayer after him and simply have faith……and then “boom”…. They are now saved.

According to Paul:

2 Cor 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

So now that you have confessed and believed……you are now a completely different person…… destined for heaven.

With this counterfeit salvation……Paul has actually prevented the entire world from being saved.

Take a look at Jesus concept of salvation when he spoke to the pastors.

Matthew 21:28-32
28 “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’
29 “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.
30 “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.
31 “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, THE TAX COLLECTORS AND THE PROSTITUTES ARE ENTERING THE KINGDOM OF GOD AHEAD OF YOU.
32 FOR JOHN CAME TO SHOW YOU THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND YOU DID NOT BELIEVE HIM, BUT THE TAX COLLECTORS AND THE PROSTITUTES DID. AND EVEN AFTER YOU SAW THIS, YOU DID NOT REPENT AND BELIEVE HIM.

Pay attention to the difference.

Paul’s position is that you have to confess and believe to be saved

Jesus position is that you have to repent to be saved.

There is a pretty big difference between the two

Remember where we came from up to this point. Paul teaches that man is born in sin and cannot help but continue to sin.

According to Jesus…..it is possible to stop sinning. And if you don’t stop sinning….. you cannot be saved. If you dont “repent” ….. you cannot be saved.

Do you find it strange that in the text above Jesus said that tax collectors and prostitutes would get to heaven before the pastors?

Why would that be the case?

Its simple….. a prostitute sees the ways of righteousness and does something…..she does not confess and believe in her heart

She repents…..in other words…..she stops being a prostitute.

But Paul’s position is quite different. He wants you to remain in prostitution.

Take a look at this:

1 Corinthians 7:20-24
20 EACH ONE SHOULD REMAIN IN THE SITUATION WHICH HE WAS IN WHEN GOD CALLED HIM.
21 Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you– although if you can gain your freedom, do so.
22 For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord’s freedman; similarly, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.
23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.
24 Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to

What exactly is the motive of Paul’s message?

Its simple……”Paul does not want you to repent.”

He wants you to remain in the situation that you are in and do nothing but confess and believe in your heart.

Jesus says:

Matt 8:11-12
11 “And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12 “But THE SONS OF THE KINGDOM WILL BE CAST INTO OUTER DARKNESS. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Why would the sons of the kingdom be cast into outer darkness?

Because they confessed and they believed……but they never “repented”.

They carried on sinning…..making them absolutely no different from someone who has never even heard of Jesus anyway.

Every time Jesus forgave someone of their sins he told them to stop sinning:

John 8:10-11
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and SIN NO MORE.

John 5:14
14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you have become well; DO NOT SIN ANYMORE, SO THAT NOTHING WORSE HAPPENS TO YOU.”

If something worse will happen to you when you carry on sinning……why does Paul teach that you are covered by grace despite being a sinner?

Paul’s message runs pretty deep.

The fact that his message requires you to do absolutely nothing is what makes it even more dangerous.

Paul says:

Gal 5:5
5 BUT BY FAITH WE EAGERLY AWAIT THROUGH THE SPIRIT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR WHICH WE HOPE.

In other words……if you are a thief……just have faith and eagerly wait for righteousness which will come…..hopefully

In the mean time…..what happens?

Evidently…..you are still a thief……

“Hoping” that one day…..righteousness will come and miraculously take the habit of stealing away.

Paul says:

Eph 2:8-9
8 For IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH—AND THIS IS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS A GIFT OF GOD—NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST.

What is Paul saying here?

If you are a thief…..you are saved by grace through faith……it has nothing to do with you……..it is a gift……you don’t have to do anything to get it …… in fact…..do absolutely nothing…..so that you wont be able to boast that you did it yourself.

How does repentance play a role in this?

Quite frankly…..it doesn’t

Repenting requires you to take a decision to stop stealing

Paul says don’t stop stealing otherwise it will make you boast…….its all good….you have been saved by grace through faith…….so basically…..do nothing.

Paul says:

Romans 3:22-24
22 THIS RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD COMES THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST TO ALL WHO BELIEVE. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE,
23 FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD,
24 AND ARE JUSTIFIED FREELY BY HIS GRACE THROUGH THE REDEMPTION THAT CAME BY CHRIST JESUS.

Everybody is a sinner……but don’t worry…..just because of the fact that you believe in Jesus…. That makes you a righteous person.

Is there something wrong with this?

Paul says:

Rom 4:5
5 However, TO THE MAN WHO DOES NOT WORK BUT TRUSTS GOD WHO JUSTIFIES THE WICKED, HIS FAITH IS CREDITED AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.

Please read that statement again so that you can see exactly what Paul is saying cause its pretty obvious.

God justifies the wicked?

So if you are a thief or a murderer or a prostitute……God justifies you……simply because you have faith…..which means you are righteous?

Paul says don’t do any work……just trust God

Take a look at what James had to say in response to this issue of works

James 2:17-26
17 FAITH BY ITSELF, IF IT DOES NOT HAVE WORKS, IS DEAD.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
19 YOU BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ONE GOD. YOU DO WELL. EVEN THE DEMONS BELIEVE—AND TREMBLE!
20 BUT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW, O FOOLISH MAN, THAT FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?
23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.
24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Who is the foolish man that James is talking about here?

Is the foolish man Paul?

It very well might be considering the fact that Paul was the only one going around preaching to people not to do any works but just to have faith.

James says, so what if you believe there is one God……that’s fantastic……even demons believe that……but if you have faith and no works to go with it……your faith is useless.

Im asking the question….so what if you believe in Christ and you confess your sins……does that make you stop being a sinner?

If a man believes he is a smoker……and confesses that he is a smoker…….does that automatically make him a “non smoker”.

Sounds like a stupid question…..but that is exactly what Paul is trying to get us to believe.

Jesus confirms that Abraham’s faith was of works:

John 8:39
39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.

Jesus called the people to the “works” of Abraham and not just to his “faith”.

But Paul on the other hand says:

Rom 5:17
17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

Righteousness is not a gift. Righteousness comes as a result of works.

Paul speaks with a forked tongue.

Paul who preaches ‘faith without works’ contradicts himself again:

Romans 2:6
“For he will render to every man ACCORDING TO HIS WORKS.”

2 Cor 11:15
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS

We can therefore understand the significance of his statement about being all things to all men:

1 Cor 9:20-22

20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; (21) to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; (22) to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I HAVE BECOME ALL THINGS TO ALL MEN, that I might by all means save some.

Paul is a self confessed hypocrite.

If Paul knows the truth…..why does he tend to preach something different?

Look…….. its important for us to realize something.

Rat poison is 97% good ingredients.

A bit of potato, a bit of meat, a bit of fish……..but it is the remaining 3% of poison that kills the rat

A good liar never tells a complete lie……that would be too obvious.

If Paul came out right and said “I am the devil”…..nobody would listen to him.

You are more likely to listen to him if he says he is a follower of Christ though…… especially if his words are printed in a book that is considered to be the word of God.

Paul tells a whole lot of truth……. But the lies that he slips in…..are just enough to lead you away from Christ.

Christianity has been lead away from Christ.

Paul has set us up to believe a fallacy:

Romans 9:16
16 So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.

The purpose of this distortion is to ensure that we don’t will to do good and we don’t run to do good.

We simply leave it all to God.

Paul is determined that men should be condemned.

Ill let you in on a secret……

Paul the apostle……..is actually Paul…….the Antichrist.

As always……we are in for a rude awakening.

MIND CONTROL 6

Grim reaper crossed out with red X

Image via Wikipedia

They called it heaven. Life’s destination. A place where people only with faith were allowed to be. People who had faith in the blood of a man which would take them there.

They failed to see that heaven is a relationship. Heaven the place is also heaven the person. A relationship between a father and his son. A relationship that begins here on earth; not an expectation of what is to come in the next life.

They failed to see that heaven can be reached here and now. They told them that the only way to get there was to die. They told them they needed to die, which was true…….but it was the wrong kind of death.

They told them death was when blood no longer flowed through their veins. They told them death was when they were no longer breathing.

They blinded them from seeing that they could be dead even though they were still alive. They deceived them into thinking death was something else.

They neglected to mention the contrast between having a relationship with God and not having one…..therin lies the difference between life and death.

They preached a gospel that emphasised physical gifts. Gifts that would make things better on earth. In the midst of strife and their neighbours getting stabbed with a knife. They preached a false doctrine……and they called it life.

WHY CHRISTIANS WON’T GO TO HEAVEN

Gone With the Sin cover

Image via Wikipedia

Don’t be intimidated by the title. It is designed precisely to cause the effect that it’s having on your expression “right now”. The message of Christ can never be understood if it is diluted. What we need to do rather than reject it, is to understand it so we know exactly what we are dealing with. Blessed are those that listen and are not offended.

It is very important for us to understand “why” Jesus constantly had an issue with the pastors of his time. The Pharisees, Saducees, Rabbi’s, Scribes, the chief priests and the elders were constantly being preached against. Even though they were the ones allegedly supposed to be heirs of the kingdom, Jesus did not seem to agree that they were; mostly because they did not want to accept his message.

We need to examine this position, and relate it to Christianity; simply because Christians today believe they are heirs of the kingdom, and thus fall under the same category.

This is a scenario where Jesus is once again talking to the Pastors:

Matt 21:28-32
32 FOR JOHN CAME TO YOU TO SHOW YOU THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND YOU DID NOT BELIEVE HIM, BUT TAX COLLECTORS AND THE PROSTITUTES DID. AND EVEN AFTER YOU SAW THIS, YOU DID NOT REPENT AND BELIEVE HIM

In this episode Christ distinguished between two types of people. There are those who say “I will go”, but then don’t go. Then there are those who say “I won’t go”; but later take a decision to go. He then breaks this down and points out that prostitutes and tax collectors were shown the way of righteousness and on the basis of this they repented; but the pastors did not repent, and in today’s light we need to understand the reason why.

Please follow my trend of thought. Jesus meets a prostitute and tells her “you can’t get into the kingdom of heaven unless you become righteous”. The prostitute responds by saying “I don’t want to be righteous because that’s the way I earn a living for me and my children”. Later on she has a change of heart and she decides to become righteous and she quits her job as a prostitute.

Jesus meets a Christian and tells him “you can’t get into the kingdom of heaven unless you become righteous”. The Christian responds by saying “It is impossible for a human being to be righteous, that is why God sent his son to die for my sins, and as long as I confess he is lord and believe it in my heart, I will get into the kingdom of heaven. On the basis of this the Christian carries on with his life exactly the way he is.

John 8:34-36
34 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, EVERYONE WHO SINS IS A SLAVE TO SIN.
35 NOW A SLAVE HAS NO PERMANENT PLACE IN THE FAMILY, BUT A SON BELONGS TO IT FOREVER.
36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Christians are slaves to sin, and they accept this, but they believe that the way in which Jesus set them free was by being a “sacrifice” for their sins. What they fail to realize is that the way we were set free, was by Jesus “telling us” the way to get out of the trap. This isn’t a sofa, this is knock down “do-it-yourself Argos furniture. That is why he is a shepherd, and we as sheep “follow” his footsteps.

Jesus says:
Matt 7:22-23
22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’
23 THEN I WILL TELL THEM PLAINLY, ‘I NEVER KNEW YOU. AWAY FROM ME, YOU EVILDOERS!’

Who are the ones who call Jesus lord lord?
Who are the ones that prophecy in the name of Jesus?
Who are the ones that drive out demons in the name of Jesus?
Who are the ones that perform miracles in the name of Jesus?

Christians.

Yet Jesus will say to them plainly: “I never knew you; away from me, you evildoers”.

Why would he say such a thing? He will say that because Christians will spend their entire lives doing evil; whilst calling him lord lord, preaching in his name, performing miracles and all the rest of it. They won’t for a second see that it is “entirely their responsibility” to do good; because Jesus never died for anybody’s sins. We account for our own sins ourselves.

But where did all the confusion come from? Where did this idea come from which states that we are all sinners and we can’t help it, thus Christ needed to be a sacrifice for our sins?

It came from the founder of Christianity himself; my good friend Paul the apostle.

Paul says:

Rom 7:14-15
14 WE KNOW THAT THE LAW IS SPIRITUAL; BUT I AM UNSPIRITUAL, SOLD AS A SLAVE TO SIN.
15 I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do, that I do.

Paul has told us that he is “unspiritual” and a “slave of sin”, and we have accepted this condition as our own. Paul says he does not understand what he does, because he never does anything that he wants to do, he only does the things that he hates. It’s a pretty good excuse when you want to continue doing whatever sin it is that you are doing. That’s like saying, “I hate fornicating but I do it, I don’t understand what I’m doing, I want to “not” fornicate yet I can’t help it”. It’s a reasonable enough excuse, I’ve used that many times myself and it always has a way of making me feel better. But when I decide to stop lying to myself, I realize that “I want to keep fornicating, and that’s the reason why I do it”. If you don’t like watching “America’s next top model”……you wouldn’t watch it.

Paul says:

Rom 7:24-25
24 Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death?
25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, ON THE ONE HAND I MYSELF WITH MY MIND AM SERVING THE LAW OF GOD, BUT ON THE OTHER, WITH MY FLESH THE LAW OF SIN.

The typical Christian approach: Serving God with ‘the mind”, but the “body” is still sinning. Your Father tells you “don’t eat the ice cream”. In your mind you are obeying the instruction, but with your mouth you are eating the ice cream. Yes, when you look at it plainly, it “really does sound that stupid”.

Jesus says:

John 3:19-20
19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, BUT MEN LOVED DARKNESS INSTEAD OF LIGHT BECAUSE THEIR DEEDS WERE EVIL.
20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.

Let’s face it, we love darkness. That is why we have bought all of Paul’s excuses. Deep down we know that the message of Paul makes absolutely no sense, yet we love it because it allows us to remain in sin, but with the hope that we will somehow get into heaven by “confessing” Jesus. Unfortunately it does not work that way, and unless Christians understand this, they will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Paul says:

1 Cor 7:20-24
20 EACH MAN MUST REMAIN IN THAT CONDITION IN WHICH HE WAS CALLED.
21 Were you called while a slave? Do not worry about it; but if you are able also to become free, rather do that.
22 For he who was called in the Lord while a slave, is the Lord’s freedman; likewise he who was called while free, is Christ’s slave.
23 You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of men.
24 BRETHREN, EACH ONE IS TO REMAIN WITH GOD IN THAT CONDITION IN WHICH HE WAS CALLED.

What could Paul possibly mean when he says “each man should remain in the condition he was called”? So if God calls a woman that is a prostitute, should she remain a prostitute? I’ll leave you to work out just how twisted Paul’s statement is. You need to be able to see past the “holiness” and see his message for what it is.

Jesus says:

Matt 8:11-12
11 “And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12 “BUT THE SONS OF THE KINGDOM WILL BE CAST OUT INTO OUTRE DARKNESS. THERE WILL BE WEEPING AND GNASHING OF TEETH.”

Christians will be cast into outer darkness primarily because they do not understand the message of Christ. We must make sure that we are following Christ; rather than subconsciously following a man who “claims” he is following Christ.
