This is where it gets very important to pay attention to the level of deception that Paul uses.
Let us start with taking a look at Paul’s concept of salvation
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”– that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
9 that IF YOU CONFESS WITH YOUR MOUTH JESUS AS LORD, AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD, YOU SHALL BE SAVED;
10 for WITH THE HEART MAN BELIEVES, RESULTING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND WITH THE MOUTH HE CONFESSES, RESULTING IN SALVATION.
What is Paul saying?
Paul is saying all you have to do is believe in your heart…..and you are automatically righteous.
Confess with your mouth…….and you are automatically saved.
This is what gave birth to the concept now known as “the altar call”.
The pastor preaches a message……asks the congregation if anyone wants to be saved….. tells them to repeat a prayer after him and simply have faith……and then “boom”…. They are now saved.
According to Paul:
2 Cor 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
So now that you have confessed and believed……you are now a completely different person…… destined for heaven.
With this counterfeit salvation……Paul has actually prevented the entire world from being saved.
Take a look at Jesus concept of salvation when he spoke to the pastors.
28 “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’
29 “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.
30 “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go.
31 “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered. Jesus said to them, “I TELL YOU THE TRUTH, THE TAX COLLECTORS AND THE PROSTITUTES ARE ENTERING THE KINGDOM OF GOD AHEAD OF YOU.
32 FOR JOHN CAME TO SHOW YOU THE WAY OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, AND YOU DID NOT BELIEVE HIM, BUT THE TAX COLLECTORS AND THE PROSTITUTES DID. AND EVEN AFTER YOU SAW THIS, YOU DID NOT REPENT AND BELIEVE HIM.
Pay attention to the difference.
Paul’s position is that you have to confess and believe to be saved
Jesus position is that you have to repent to be saved.
There is a pretty big difference between the two
Remember where we came from up to this point. Paul teaches that man is born in sin and cannot help but continue to sin.
According to Jesus…..it is possible to stop sinning. And if you don’t stop sinning….. you cannot be saved. If you dont “repent” ….. you cannot be saved.
Do you find it strange that in the text above Jesus said that tax collectors and prostitutes would get to heaven before the pastors?
Why would that be the case?
Its simple….. a prostitute sees the ways of righteousness and does something…..she does not confess and believe in her heart
She repents…..in other words…..she stops being a prostitute.
But Paul’s position is quite different. He wants you to remain in prostitution.
Take a look at this:
1 Corinthians 7:20-24
20 EACH ONE SHOULD REMAIN IN THE SITUATION WHICH HE WAS IN WHEN GOD CALLED HIM.
21 Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you– although if you can gain your freedom, do so.
22 For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord’s freedman; similarly, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.
23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.
24 Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to
What exactly is the motive of Paul’s message?
Its simple……”Paul does not want you to repent.”
He wants you to remain in the situation that you are in and do nothing but confess and believe in your heart.
11 “And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12 “But THE SONS OF THE KINGDOM WILL BE CAST INTO OUTER DARKNESS. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
Why would the sons of the kingdom be cast into outer darkness?
Because they confessed and they believed……but they never “repented”.
They carried on sinning…..making them absolutely no different from someone who has never even heard of Jesus anyway.
Every time Jesus forgave someone of their sins he told them to stop sinning:
10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and SIN NO MORE.
14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you have become well; DO NOT SIN ANYMORE, SO THAT NOTHING WORSE HAPPENS TO YOU.”
If something worse will happen to you when you carry on sinning……why does Paul teach that you are covered by grace despite being a sinner?
Paul’s message runs pretty deep.
The fact that his message requires you to do absolutely nothing is what makes it even more dangerous.
5 BUT BY FAITH WE EAGERLY AWAIT THROUGH THE SPIRIT THE RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR WHICH WE HOPE.
In other words……if you are a thief……just have faith and eagerly wait for righteousness which will come…..hopefully
In the mean time…..what happens?
Evidently…..you are still a thief……
“Hoping” that one day…..righteousness will come and miraculously take the habit of stealing away.
8 For IT IS BY GRACE YOU HAVE BEEN SAVED, THROUGH FAITH—AND THIS IS NOT FROM YOURSELVES, IT IS A GIFT OF GOD—NOT BY WORKS, SO THAT NO ONE CAN BOAST.
What is Paul saying here?
If you are a thief…..you are saved by grace through faith……it has nothing to do with you……..it is a gift……you don’t have to do anything to get it …… in fact…..do absolutely nothing…..so that you wont be able to boast that you did it yourself.
How does repentance play a role in this?
Quite frankly…..it doesn’t
Repenting requires you to take a decision to stop stealing
Paul says don’t stop stealing otherwise it will make you boast…….its all good….you have been saved by grace through faith…….so basically…..do nothing.
22 THIS RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD COMES THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST TO ALL WHO BELIEVE. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE,
23 FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD,
24 AND ARE JUSTIFIED FREELY BY HIS GRACE THROUGH THE REDEMPTION THAT CAME BY CHRIST JESUS.
Everybody is a sinner……but don’t worry…..just because of the fact that you believe in Jesus…. That makes you a righteous person.
Is there something wrong with this?
5 However, TO THE MAN WHO DOES NOT WORK BUT TRUSTS GOD WHO JUSTIFIES THE WICKED, HIS FAITH IS CREDITED AS RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Please read that statement again so that you can see exactly what Paul is saying cause its pretty obvious.
God justifies the wicked?
So if you are a thief or a murderer or a prostitute……God justifies you……simply because you have faith…..which means you are righteous?
Paul says don’t do any work……just trust God
Take a look at what James had to say in response to this issue of works
17 FAITH BY ITSELF, IF IT DOES NOT HAVE WORKS, IS DEAD.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
19 YOU BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ONE GOD. YOU DO WELL. EVEN THE DEMONS BELIEVE—AND TREMBLE!
20 BUT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW, O FOOLISH MAN, THAT FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD?
21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?
23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.
24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Who is the foolish man that James is talking about here?
Is the foolish man Paul?
It very well might be considering the fact that Paul was the only one going around preaching to people not to do any works but just to have faith.
James says, so what if you believe there is one God……that’s fantastic……even demons believe that……but if you have faith and no works to go with it……your faith is useless.
Im asking the question….so what if you believe in Christ and you confess your sins……does that make you stop being a sinner?
If a man believes he is a smoker……and confesses that he is a smoker…….does that automatically make him a “non smoker”.
Sounds like a stupid question…..but that is exactly what Paul is trying to get us to believe.
Jesus confirms that Abraham’s faith was of works:
39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.
Jesus called the people to the “works” of Abraham and not just to his “faith”.
But Paul on the other hand says:
17 For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
Righteousness is not a gift. Righteousness comes as a result of works.
Paul speaks with a forked tongue.
Paul who preaches ‘faith without works’ contradicts himself again:
“For he will render to every man ACCORDING TO HIS WORKS.”
2 Cor 11:15
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS
We can therefore understand the significance of his statement about being all things to all men:
1 Cor 9:20-22
20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; (21) to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; (22) to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I HAVE BECOME ALL THINGS TO ALL MEN, that I might by all means save some.
Paul is a self confessed hypocrite.
If Paul knows the truth…..why does he tend to preach something different?
Look…….. its important for us to realize something.
Rat poison is 97% good ingredients.
A bit of potato, a bit of meat, a bit of fish……..but it is the remaining 3% of poison that kills the rat
A good liar never tells a complete lie……that would be too obvious.
If Paul came out right and said “I am the devil”…..nobody would listen to him.
You are more likely to listen to him if he says he is a follower of Christ though…… especially if his words are printed in a book that is considered to be the word of God.
Paul tells a whole lot of truth……. But the lies that he slips in…..are just enough to lead you away from Christ.
Christianity has been lead away from Christ.
Paul has set us up to believe a fallacy:
16 So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy.
The purpose of this distortion is to ensure that we don’t will to do good and we don’t run to do good.
We simply leave it all to God.
Paul is determined that men should be condemned.
Ill let you in on a secret……
Paul the apostle……..is actually Paul…….the Antichrist.
As always……we are in for a rude awakening.
To be continued……
